Ferruginous Pygmy-Owl

Glaucidium brasilianum
Conservation Status: Least Concern

The Ferruginous Pygmy-Owl can be found across various habitats on Trinidad. Ferruginous Pygmy-Owls are active during both day and night; however they would take short naps throughout the day. Once stationary they do not attract the ire of neighboring birds – but once they fly from one perch to the next they are mobbed by a variety of hummingbirds, thrushes, tanagers, and many others.
