The Oilbird is a large, nocturnal bird that uses echolocation as its main navigation technique. It can still see very well in near total darkness, as its eyes are incredibly sensitive to light. By day, Oilbirds roost in caves on Trinidad. They are the only nocturnal, fruit-eating bird in the world, often traversing distances in excess of 100km in search of their favored palm fruits each night.
