The American Golden-Plover is a dainty, stately migratory shorebird frequenting inland pastures during the northern winter. They migrate from their breeding grounds in the Arctic to T&T while in their breeding plumage. Upon arrival they moult to a more neutral winter plumage. During their long over-ocean flights, they can sustain speeds of up to 128km/h.
