Lesson’s Seedeater

Sporophila bouvronides
Conservation Status: Least Concern

The Lesson’s Seedeater was a resident of Trinidad’s forests, however pressure from persons keen on trapping them for the cagebird trade has exterminated the breeding population. Any records now are of birds migrating from South America. Due to the cagebird trade being an ongoing problem, further information on this species is not freely available.
