The White-tailed Sabrewing is a large, powerful hummingbird restricted to forested areas on Tobago. Hurricane Flora in 1963 decimated the population and they were not seen for 11 years following the hurricane. Today, the species is making a slow comeback on Tobago. It is not found on Trinidad.
